"The ARRIVE (Animal Research: Reporting of In Vivo Experiments) guidelines are designed to improve the transparency and reproducibility of animal research by providing a comprehensive checklist for reporting experimental details. These guidelines emphasize the importance of transparent reporting of animal studies, covering aspects such as study design, experimental procedures, statistical analysis, and measures taken to minimize bias and improve animal welfare. On the other hand, the PREPARE (Planning Research and Experimental Procedures on Animals: Recommendations for Excellence) guidelines offer a framework for researchers to meticulously plan their experiments before starting animal studies. PREPARE focuses on various aspects of experimental design, including ethical considerations, sample size determination, protocol optimization, and refinement of experimental techniques, with an overall aim to enhance the quality and rigor of animal research while minimizing harm to animals. Together, these guidelines serve as valuable resources to ensure the ethical conduct, robustness, and reproducibility of animal research practices."
